Submissions
Submission Preparation Checklist
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.- The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
- Manuscripts submitted to AJAL should be in Microsoft Word document file format. They should follow standard American or British English spelling and not a combination of both. All submissions should follow the Author Guidelines.
- All submissions should include an anonymized manuscript, where the names of all authors and their corresponding details such as affiliations, and contact details are omitted.
- All submissions should include a title page stating the title of manuscript, all authors names, their affiliations, correspondence addresses or permanent addresses, email addresses, and a maximum of a fifty-word biography per author; and other supplementary materials if necessary.
- All submissions should include a statement where the author attests that he/she received financial support or a research grant for their manuscript-based research. If this is not the case, the author should write the following at the end of their manuscript and before the reference list “This research did not receive any funding from any agency in the public, commercial, or not-for-profit sectors.”
- Author(s) commit themselves to adhere to the journal’s ethical standards.
Book Review
This section is devoted to reviewing newly published books in any discipline that meets the AJAL scope and interests.

By submitting to AJAL, authors agree to the following terms:
- Authors grant the journal right of first publication, with the work for an indefinite period of time after publication.
- Authors are able to enter into separate, additional contractual arrangements for the non-exclusive distribution of the journal's published version of the work (e.g., post it to an institutional repository or publish it in a book), with an acknowledgement of its initial publication in this journal.
- Authors are permitted and encouraged to post their work online (e.g., in institutional repositories or on their website) prior to and during the submission process, as it can lead to productive exchanges, as well as earlier and greater citation of published work.
